One of the more infamous of the obnoxiously hot peppers out there, with an average rating of between 800,000-1.2 million Scoville units (by comparison, a jalapeno sits around 2,000, and a habanero 200,000). If you like spice, this is a plant for you. Just one of these peppers can give a healthy kick to a whole crock pot of chili, and the plants aren't bad looking either, with slender deep green leaves and cream-yellow blooms. Plus, if you're already on this site looking for tropical plants, this goes right with; they grow best in hot, humid environments, though drier air often kicks up the heat in the peppers.
Packets contain approx. 20 seeds, handle carefully as even these dried, long-term stored seeds hold a lot of spice on them.
