Though the exact species is unknown, this bulb-forming African plant will be beautiful no matter once mature. Known commonly as Lily of the Nile, they are ironically native to southern Africa and not Egypt. Plants develop curving strap-shaped leaves up to 2 feet long, and in the summer season mature plants will produce spikes up to 6 feet tall topped in numerous small, pale to bright lavender blue flowers shaped like miniature Asiatic lilies. Does best in a well-draining but moist soil, and is only mildly frost-tolerant.
Available plants are juveniles approx. 8 inches tall with leaves held upright. Price is per plant.
