Many herps (the collective term for this group of animals) make great and beautiful pets! Easy to care for and often fun to work with, some are for beginners, others for the experienced keepers.

Kenyan Sand Boas (Eryx colubrinus)
A fantastic pet for someone just getting into snakes, being relatively small, not terribly sensitive of humidity, typically feed readily on mice, and adorable! Keep in mind though: all reptiles can be a very long-term commitment, but sand boas especially can live for 40+ years under good care.
All available animals are double het for anerythrism and paradox amelanism.

Corn Snakes (Pantherophis guttatus)
The quintessential beginner's pet, at least for those who like a species that is interactive. Corn snakes average between 3.5-5 feet long when adults (though 5 and above is very uncommon) and come in a HUGE range of color and pattern variations. Easy to feed on store-bought rodents and adaptable to many housing conditions, they do best in spaces that let them climb, explore, and burrow a little. Most become very docile after about a year of age (babies are always skittish as they're tiny) but retain a love for exploring and being very active at all times.
