Shipping Information and Conditions
Our Shipping Policy
All live plants and animals are shipped via USPS Priority or Express Mail, or via FedEx/UPS options at the buyer's choice and discretion. Seeds are shipped via USPS standard First Class or Priority in regular or padded envelopes at the buyer's discretion if shipped separately from live plants or animals.
PACKAGES WILL BE SHIPPED WITHIN THE US ONLY; I CURRENTLY CANNOT ACCEPT ORDERS OUTSIDE THE USA. FOR REGULATIONS CONCERNING THE TRANSPORT OF PLANTS OR ANIMALS CONTROLLED WITHIN YOUR STATE, PLEASE BE AWARE I CANNOT TRACK ALL LAWS AND ORDINANCES OR BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR PACKAGES SEIZED DUE TO PROHIBITED OR LOCALLY PROTECTED SPECIES PRESENT. THIS IS THE BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY.
For inquiries on seed shipping outside the US: yes, I can ship seeds to other countries, but ONLY if the buyer is able to acquire and forward any and all necessary import permits, phytosanitary certificates, or other needed documents that their country's customs require. I cannot be responsible for knowing the regulations necessary for every country, but I will generally double-check requirements for any inquiry that is made before agreeing to an order.
Live plants and animals will only be shipped Monday through Wednesday of any given week under Priority Mail, or through Thursday using Overnight or Express options, in order to avoid holdovers through the weekend (some exceptions may apply due to weather or holidays). Seeds may be shipped any day of the week unless the buyer requests otherwise. Packages will not be shipped before Federal Holidays if a holdover is expected, and during the winter holiday season (Approximately November 20-January 10) all orders will be placed on hold unless shipped via Overnight or Express options under special request in order to avoid the extreme delays often caused by high volume at that time of year.
PLEASE NOTE: PACKAGES MAY BE DELAYED SHIPPING AT ANY TIME OF YEAR IF INCLEMENT WEATHER IS EXPECTED IN THE SENDING OR RECEIVING LOCATION, INCLUDING DUE TO HEAT WAVES, WINTER STORMS, OR EXTREME COLD. LIVE ANIMALS WILL NOT BE SHIPPED IF TEMPERATURES EXCEED 90 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OR DROP BELOW 35 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT FOR MULTIPLE DAYS AT A TIME.
During winter, if moderately cold weather is expected, heat packs are available to help maintain temperatures within the package and ensure live delivery. Signature required or hold-for-pickup options are also available to avoid organisms being left outside exposed to the elements.
All plants are shipped bare-root, wrapped in moist paper towels in secure bags (potted options available only under certain circumstances as depicted in sales listings). Animals are shipped in appropriately sized containers wrapped in padding to avoid jostling and injury. Seeds are shipped in packets attached to appropriate padding to avoid damage within shipping equipment. All plants are guaranteed with live arrival under all shipping options available; animals must be shipped via Overnight or Express options in order to qualify for live delivery guarantee. This guarantee is voided if requests are made to ship any plants or animals during inclement weather conditions or during the holiday season. Living plants and animals are to be received as-is, and orders that have been placed and shipped out cannot be canceled or refunded; I cannot accept return shipments due to stress on living organisms.
All reptiles will be shipped strictly via Fedex Overnight methods through Ship Your Reptiles or Reptiles 2 You under their required licensing standards, to ensure quick transit and safe arrival. It is preferred shipments are sent to local shipping centers/hubs for safest arrival; direct domestic delivery will be considered individually based on weather conditions and scheduling. Temperatures above 90 or below 35 degrees Fahrenheit will be considered unsafe and shipment may be delayed until conditions are more favorable.
Replacements and Refunds
PLANTS AND ANIMALS (excepting reptiles as depicted) SHIPPED MAY NOT EXACTLY MATCH THE PICTURES ON THIS WEBSITE DUE TO INDIVIDUAL VARIABILITY AND RESPONSES TO CHANGES IN CONDITIONS BEFORE SHIPMENT OR NATURAL LIFE CYCLE STAGES. IF A PLANT OR ANIMAL IS RECEIVED DEAD ON ARRIVAL OR OTHERWISE SEVERELY COMPROMISED THAT IT WILL NOT SURVIVE, THE BUYER MUST CONTACT ME WITHIN 48 HOURS OR RECEIPT IN ORDER FOR A REPLACEMENT TO BE ARRANGED.
In the case of DOA receipt, photos may be requested to verify the condition of the item received in order to determine if a replacement is warranted. If a replacement item is not available, similar items may be offered or refunds can be arranged if no other options are accepted or available. In every case it is hoped to settle the situation amiably and with full satisfaction to the buyer, but the buyer must be fully aware that these are living organisms subject to stress during the shipping process and be prepared to take the required steps to care for the organisms properly upon receipt. Some plants may enter dormant or die-back states at certain times of year, and in these conditions the buyer will be made aware before purchases are finalized and the condition will be noted on the package.
I currently accept PayPal, Checks, and Money Orders, or credit card payments via Square. PayPal payments can be made via the address given upon finalization of an order. Checks or money orders if chosen can be mailed in to our mailing address on the Contact page (this address will also be provided if these options are chosen upon finalization of an order). If payment is made via a check or money order, items will be shipped as soon as payment is cleared. Square credit card payments do involve an added 4% fee, and are generally made via a link sent by phone number or email.
