A rare endemic agave species, found only in and around the Hualapai Mountains in western Arizona where it grows from the desert foothills up to over 7,000 feet in elevation (which also lends it some impressive cold-hardiness, down to -10 Fahrenheit). Plants may reach nearly 3 feet across, with semi-erect tapered leaves that are lined in large hooklike thorns and frequently present with banded coloration, light and dark powdery blue-green or green and rusty. Mature plants, often over a decade, may produce pups but will also finish their life with a massive 16 foot inflorescence bearing hundreds of yellow flowers.
Available plants are seedlings approx. 3-6 inches in diameter.
