Garlic Chives are a native of eastern Asia, a highly cold-hardy species of onion that can be ornamental as well as edible. As the name suggests, these plants have a chives-like growth habit with slender tubular leaves up to about a foot tall, and have a somewhat garlicky odor and taste to them when broken (or chopped up into a dish). They don't tend to produce much in the way of bulbs, the bases being only slightly wider than the leaves, but the entire plant is edible. If allowed to flower, they will be topped by a spreading bundle of star-shaped white flowers that emit a faint sweet aroma, and self-pollinate to set seed and spread your patch over time.
Packets contain approx. 20-30 seeds each.
