Photo coming soon The Desert Willow is not a true willow, though it somewhat resembles one. Depending on where you are (they're native from Texas through to California and Nevada) they may grow as a moderate shrub to small tree 15-40 feet tall, with multiple slender branches supporting thin linear deep green leaves. Mature plants may produce catalpa-like but smaller trumpet shaped blooms in various shades of mauve to magenta with white or yellow highlights and darker edging around the throat (some may even be pure white). They do best in the slightly wetter riparian edges of desert habitats, so are drought tolerant but do prefer a bit more moisture than the average cactus.
