A spectacular in miniature annual native to an extremely restricted range along the desert slopes of the southern Sierra Nevada and Tehachapi Mountains of California. Plants form branching clumps of stems covered in small, highly glandular and sticky leaves, and once mature will produce from the axils tubular deep burgundy-purple flowers with a broad, almost round open ring of lobes that are bright white etched in reticulated purple veins, giving rise to the name Calico Monkeyflower. Each bloom is tiny, only a quarter inch or so across, but one fully mature plant or several all blooming en masse can create a dazzling and intricate display. Readily self-seeds once mature and sprouts with ease in cool, moist but well-drained conditions.
Packets contain approx. 30-50 seeds each.
