The Canary Islands or Moroccan Dragon Tree is a close relative of the famed Socotran Dragon's Blood Trees, and has a similar growth habit but is quite a bit easier to grow (still a dryland tropical however). Plants are slow-growing and easy to keep in pots for many years, taking up to 15 just to reach 5-10 feet and flower on a singular tall stalk tipped in tough sword-shaped leaves. After that, the plant will branch, and do so every time it blooms until eventually forming a 20-30 foot (if not pruned) umbrella-shaped crown. Best kept in a loose dry soil and watered sparingly, and in as bright a light as possible though it will tolerate moderate shade.
Available plants are seedlings currently 4-5 inches tall. Price is per plant; they will not be offered again here for many years.
