Rarely offered, somewhat touchy to grow, this spectacular New Caledonia endemic can reach more than 4 inches across with erect to semi-erect, slender leaves bearing tapering almost rounded petioles lined in spine-looking white hairs and tipped with a curling slender lamina. Typical color is bright green but with deep crimson tentacles. The rare flowers are pale yellow in bud, opening to very large and bright white, usually self-pollinating. Best grown in fairly warm conditions and moist but sandy soils, and once planted, may stall or even die back to the roots for a time but if left alone and not moved, will grow rapidly once happy.
Available plants are young offshoots around 1-2" in diameter. Extremely limited.
