A Latin American native that grows best in warm, partly sunny environments. Seeds can be somewhat erratic to germinate but once established it will form rosettes up to a foot across with oblong, serrated leaves that are extremely fragrant and quite similar in smell and taste to cilantro (I don't know if those with the "soap" gene will react similarly to this however). The rosette leaves are the best for harvesting, but the plant will eventually send up tall branching stalks with dramatically pointy, sharp-edged bract leaves sporting a clump of tiny unassuming green flowers in the center of each bract rosette. After the branches grow for a time new rosettes will develop at the base and the flowers will dry into seeds.
Packets contain approx. 25+ seeds each
