A unique Marsh Pitcher species native to the Chimanta and Aprada Massifs in Venezuela (this locality from Araopan in the latter), this is a stocky variety with pitchers reaching up to 7 inches tall, inflated funnel-shaped in the lower third before narrowing and then expanding out into a funnel-shaped, broad-mouthed top. The nectar spoon is the most distinct, being sunk down and embedded completely in the wall of the trap rather than extending up above it. Plants are typically bright green with some red flushing around the lip and nectar spoon, but in strong light may turn solid reddish pink. Requires very bright but very cool, humid conditions to thrive.

Available plants are new, fully mature divisions between 5-7 inches tall.
