This iris hails from western-central Asia, growing in sandy to wet soils and forming two-foot or so clumps of broad sword-like leaves above which spikes hold one to several delicate, slenderly built blooms. The flowers of this variety tend toward shades of pale blue-lavender, with the falls (outer sepals) being violet veined and yellow-based, while the standards are more uniformly pale purple. Extremely cold-hardy and tolerant of both wet and moderately dry conditions once established, it's a great uncommon garden addition.
Available plants are approximately 7-14 inches tall, single growth-point.
