This is perhaps the most common lupine species seen planted in yards and sold at garden centers, native to the Pacific Northwest region but quite hardy and moderately drought tolerant. Leaves grow up to 18 inches tall and spread to about 8 inches across, and this my current favorite form in the yard produces massive spikes up to 2 1/2 feet tall, bearing rich electric violet flowers with magenta highlight upper petals. Seeds may or may not benefit from a period of cool stratification.
Packets contain approx. 20-30 seeds each.
