An easy to grow species frequently confused with N. alata and the hybrid N. x ventrata, this plant produces moderately fast growing stems with large oblong leaves and pitchers that can reach up to 8 inches tall. Lower and upper pitchers are similar, differing mostly in presence of wings, and are bulbous in the bottom and narrower, cylidndrical above with a thin peristome. Color fades from green at the base to deep pinkish red at the top, more red with stronger light.
