Sacred Basil or Tulsi has quickly become one of my favorite variants to grow in this genus. Hailing from India, this plant is revered as a special commodity used in religious rituals and cleansing, as well as in general having many purported health benefits (including a known high antioxidant content and immune bolstering against pollutants and stress). Plants can get quite large when allowed, sometimes over 2 feet in height even before they bloom, and bear relatively small, slightly fuzzy serrated leaves that tend to grow in dense whorls around the stems that give way to spikes of bright pink blooms. Even when barely brushed they release a powerful, sometimes nearly overwhelming minty floral aroma that is hard to describe accurately, and their flavor also echoes this highly mint-leaning floral profile more than standard basil. Great for light use in salads, cooked for syrups, dessert garnish, or even cooking with meats. Packets contain approx. 50 seeds each.
