Commonly known as the Pepino Dulche or Pepino Melon, this tomato relative from South America is a large tropical perennial or temperate annual plant with big fuzzy leaves dividing into multiple ovular leaflets, and when fully mature can reach approximately 6 feet tall. In full sun or appropriately strong light they are shrub-like and self-supporting, though may benefit from a cage or supports even then once it fruits. Though a tomato relative, the fruits can exceed a pound in weight, are an attractive peachy yellow with purple stripes, and tend to taste more like a tangy muskmelon (honeydew or cantaloupe etc.) than a tomato or nightshade. They take a fair few months to reach fruiting size, but once they do should be prolific if fed well.
One available seedling approx. 5 inches across.
